High-intent route source checklist
The first connector lane focuses on China → United States. TariffsChart does not auto-file or guarantee rates; it preserves the sources and questions your broker should review.
Before you rely on this estimate
  • Confirm HS/HTS classification with official sources or a licensed customs broker.
  • Check whether preferential rates, anti-dumping/countervailing duties, quotas, exclusions, or exemptions apply.
  • Confirm whether freight and insurance belong in the customs value for your destination and Incoterms.
  • Verify the correct import-tax base before filing or collecting duties from a buyer.

TariffsChart is a planning and recordkeeping tool only. It is not a customs broker, tax advisor, attorney, freight forwarder, or government authority. Results are estimates based on user-entered assumptions and must be verified with official sources and qualified professionals before filing, buying inventory, quoting customers, or making binding decisions.

How this import duty calculator works

Use the calculator for planning before a purchase order, broker review, or margin quote. It does not replace official classification, Chapter 99 review, AD/CVD checks, or broker advice.

How to calculate landed cost

Start with the customs value, add base import duty, additional tariff layers, import taxes, fixed fees, freight, and insurance. The calculator separates dutiable value from cash-flow landed cost so you can see both the filing assumption and the margin impact.

Import duty formula

A basic planning formula is: customs value × duty rate = base duty. For a real shipment, review the HTS code, origin, Chapter 99 instructions, Section 301 or Section 232 layers, AD/CVD, quota, and valuation basis before relying on the result.

FOB vs CIF landed cost

FOB or EXW quotes usually require adding freight and insurance to model cash outlay. CIF quotes already include freight and insurance in the supplier price. Customs valuation rules vary, so confirm whether those logistics costs belong in the dutiable value for your route.

China to US tariff calculator

For China-origin goods, use the calculator as a review workflow: enter the HTS code, base MFN rate, any Section 301 layer, possible Section 232 exposure, and source notes. Then confirm Chapter 99 and exclusion treatment with official sources or a licensed customs broker.

Amazon seller import duty calculator

Marketplace sellers can model landed cost per unit before setting a target price. Include duty, tariff layers, logistics, fixed fees, and target margin so the product decision is based on landed cost rather than supplier cost alone.
